"My parents started with Mike McClaskie’s State Farm agency around 1993 or 1994, and I continued with them as an adult. For decades, the service was excellent. The staff was professional, responsive, and supportive, and as a military member, I always felt valued as a long-term customer. Recently, however, that changed. After more than 20 years of continuous business, I was told I needed to move my policies elsewhere due to my Mississippi residence—even though the agency had long been aware that I lived in Mississippi and had continued writing and servicing my policies without issue, including throughout my military career. This issue was never raised until after I filed a complaint regarding poor communication, which made the sudden change even more difficult to understand. I understand underwriting and state requirements exist, but the way this was handled after decades of loyalty was disappointing and has tarnished what had always been a positive relationship with both the agency and State Farm."
